Lindsay Gentry

Thanks for checking me out; it's important to find a good fit!

Creating a trusting relationship and holding a safe space for you to feel seen, heard, respected and understood is my top priority. I consider it a great privilege to listen and provide support through some of life's most difficult challenges. I bring a gentle, curious, compassionate, non-judgmental and often playful approach to therapy. I help children, adolescents, and adults who may be experiencing or have a history of a variety of concerns including anxiety, depression, trauma, ADHD, low self-esteem, body image issues, and grief. Life transitions can be a critical time to seek support, including new parenthood, shifts in spiritual beliefs or identity, or changes in relationships.

I enjoy working with those who may want to learn new ways to understand and regulate emotions, manage stress, strengthen relationships, build healthier habits, heal from painful experiences, and use courage to keep becoming their fullest selves. My practice is informed by person-centered, cognitive behavioral, attachment theory, trauma-informed, internal family systems, and mindfulness based therapies. My hope is that you leave our time together feeling lighter, connected and empowered, with a bit more space to breathe, and a clearer understanding of the next steps you want to take.

My Background

I graduated from Denver Seminary with a Master of Arts in Counseling in 2011, a CACREP accredited program. I have been licensed in Ohio since 2018. Prior to community mental health, my counseling internships were with college students in a university setting, then all ages in private practice, before stepping back from professional counseling work for the first few years of new parenthood. I have been working with children, adolescents, and families in various capacities since graduating from Indiana Wesleyan University in 2004 with a B.S. in Intercultural Studies.
